Chinatown Hotel 81

I was given a chance to pay $20 to stay in Chinatown Hotel 81 over the weekend.

The rack rate is $139/night and here are some of the pix

The Room with a Queen size bed and a LCD TV on the wall

A small toilet without any bath tub

The moment I open the room door, strong cigarette smell almost knock us off our feet!

The room is smaller then a normal HDB master bedroom, with floor area good for a queen size bed and a tiny hair dressing table without any seat and Yes, they do provide hair blower.

Light switches place near to the doorway with no alternative switches near the bedside.

I can only find 2 power point in the entire room + toilet, one of them is for the LCD TV and the other is for the kettle or room guest uses.

Soundproofing of the room also sucks as I can hear the traffic all night and also some 'weird' noise from the other room :p

They do have the following complimentary

1 x packet of pre-mix milo
1 x packet of pre-mix coffee
1 x instant noodle
Basic toiletries in the toilet (towel, toothbrush, shower cap, 2 in 1 shampoo/body form, etc)

Overall verdict:

1) Good for a short stay or weekend getaway (Max 2 days 1 night).

2) Although they are ISO certified hotel chain, they still have a long way to go to improve the quality/image of this branch.

3) The room is decent enough but it's still does not justify the amount ($139/night).

TOO EXPENSIVE!!
